This sale is part 1 of the sale of the living estate of local renowned artist Edrie Bradley Knight (94) as well as consignments from several other estates.
Edrie Bradley Knight was born in Gastonia, NC April 22, 1926. After graduating from high school, she studied at the Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore, MD, where she received a certificate for three years in the course of advertising design and an honorary bachelor of fine arts degree for a fourth year of study.
For almost four years she worked as a fashion artist for Efird's Department Store in Charlotte, NC, drawing the store merchandise that was advertised in the Charlotte Observer and the Charlotte News.
As the only traveling artist in NC for Southern Bell Telephone Directory, she drew the Yellow Page advertisements for seven years.
In 1959 she married Allen Knight and continued to do art as a freelance commercial artist, drawing special art for Brady Printing Co., Monday Company, funniture designers, churches, and bird Christmas cards in pen and ink since 1968, until 2019 for personal use.
She has exhibited her art in 424 art shows in NC. Of these, 76 were one woman, 3 had 100 paintings and of these, one had 100 black and white pieces of art.
She won many awards in art for watercolor, photography, pen and ink, charcoal, oil, watercolor and egg tempera, pencil, acrylic, sculptures, and her painting in oil and wax "Let's Pretend" won the NC Award which then was on tour of the United States for one year.
She was featured in the Statesville August 2008 Living Magazine and on April 7, 2012 she was featured on television for Carolina Camera WBTV Charlotte, NC.
In 1996 she received an honorary bachelor of fine arts degree certificate from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland.
From August 13, 1982 until 2019 she has taught watercolor painting for students at Mitchell Community College Cont. Ed. In Stateville, NC.
This auction will feauture 20 pieces of Edrie's work as well as other consigned estate items.
We will also have new or gently used items from Nordstrom, Lands End and more. Photos will be added here throughout the week of Feb 1st-5th

2. Where do you live? We only ship to the continental USA and remember that shipping from the east coast to the west coast can be costly.
3. All new bidders must follow a different protocol and pay with cash or certified funds.
4. An email will go out Thursday post-auction with your invoice and instructions on pickups and shipping.

6. Pickups are FRI and SAT following the close of the auction only. If this does not work for you, please do not bid.
7. Pickups are Fri- 9-4, Sat 9-2 ONLY
8. If we do not hear from you by noon on Sat you will be subjected to negative HIBID marks, and charged fees for restocking or storage.
9. Please review all photos before bidding. Do not bid if you find something to be fake, broken or missing parts you want. There are no refunds in an auction.
10. If you are injured or cannot walk up stairs please bring help as we have a small set of steps to enter the building. Bring your own boxes and wrap to pickups, we do not supply those.
